Godolphin Cottage sits on the hill above the Salcombe estuary - on the right side for the lovely beaches of Mill Bay, Fisherman's Cove and Small's Cove. In the heart of East Portlemouth Godolphin enjoys stunning views up the estuary and is a couple of hundred yards from the steps down to the ferry that takes you over to Salcombe.

The National Trust's wonderful coastal path can take you round to Gara Rock with it’s Garavan or restaurant or head on to East Prawle to the famous Pig's Nose pub.

Salcombe Tourist Information

East Portlemouth

Our three favourite places to eat & drink close to Godolphin:

Gara Rock: Great food in the restaurant or ‘food to go’ from the GaraVan. Gara is a nice walk over the top of the point or can be reached by walking round the cliff path. It is in a glorious position - situated looking out to sea.

The Millbrook Inn In South Pool (can be reached by boat / kayak at high tide) has always been one of our favourites. It is currently under new ownership and re-emerging from lockdown. Keep an eye on this web page: The Millbrook Inn

At East Prawle: The Pigs Nose Inn. Historically an eclectic and bonkers experience - post lockdown hopefully it will be the same. Decent pub grub but so worth it for the ‘craic’!

The Venus Cafe is open in the holiday periods at the bottom of the ferry steps - good for coffee / tea / ice cream / sandwiches, pasties and cakes. If you are lucky there is a sweet little van selling pancakes and refreshments at Mill Bay in the summer.
